EVIDENCE-GRADED COMPATIBILITY

Compatible Bluetooth heart-rate monitors

Strap Zone is designed for sensors that broadcast the standard BLE Heart Rate Service. This matrix separates protocol evidence from physical tests, user reports and unknowns.

The compatibility rule

Strap Zone reads the standard Bluetooth Low Energy Heart Rate Service. A sensor must expose that service while active. ANT+ support alone, a familiar brand name or ordinary Bluetooth pairing does not prove compatibility.

The phone must remain within Bluetooth range for live zones, workout recording and audio alerts. Sensor memory, where available, is a separate manufacturer workflow.

Evidence levels

Lab tested

Physically tested with a recorded Strap Zone version, phone model, operating-system version, date and result.

Protocol compatible

The manufacturer documents Bluetooth heart-rate broadcasting that matches the standard BLE service read by Strap Zone, but this exact model has not completed our lab protocol.

User reported

A named or publicly linkable user reports that the model works, but Strap Zone has not reproduced the result in its own lab protocol.

Unknown

There is not enough model-specific evidence to make a compatibility claim. Brand-level assumptions do not change this status.

Not supported

The device lacks the Bluetooth Low Energy Heart Rate Service required by Strap Zone, or documented testing shows that the required data is unavailable.

DeviceEvidenceSupportLimitationsSources
Bluetooth SIG standard BLE Heart Rate Service deviceProtocol category Protocol compatible Expected to work over BLE

Strap Zone scans for service UUID 0x180D and subscribes to Heart Rate Measurement characteristic 0x2A37.

Implementations and firmware can still differ. Protocol matching is not a substitute for a physical model test.
Polar H10Chest strap Protocol compatible Expected to work over BLE

Polar documents Bluetooth heart-rate broadcasting and support for two simultaneous Bluetooth connections.

Not yet lab tested by Strap Zone. H10 sensor-memory recording is a separate Polar Beat workflow and does not provide live Strap Zone alerts without the phone.
Garmin HRM-DualChest strap Protocol compatible Expected to work over BLE

Garmin documents pairing HRM-Dual with a compatible smartphone or tablet over Bluetooth technology.

Not yet lab tested by Strap Zone. Bluetooth broadcasting does not by itself imply standalone workout memory.
Garmin HRM-ProChest strap Protocol compatible Expected to work over BLE

Garmin documents pairing HRM-Pro with a smartphone or tablet over Bluetooth technology.

Not yet lab tested by Strap Zone. This evidence covers HRM-Pro pairing for live Bluetooth heart-rate use and is not a claim about every Garmin strap or advanced running-dynamics features.
Wahoo TICKRChest strap Protocol compatible Expected to work over BLE

Wahoo's model-specific TICKR instructions document Bluetooth use with iOS, Android, and third-party applications.

Not yet lab tested by Strap Zone. This claim is limited to the TICKR described by the linked instructions and does not cover TICKR X, TICKR FIT, TRACKR, or every hardware revision.
COOSPO H9Z / H808SChest strap Unknown Unknown

The exact models have not yet completed source verification and the Strap Zone physical test protocol.

Do not infer support from the COOSPO brand name or from another model in the same product family. No model-specific public source yet
Magene H64 / H303Chest strap Unknown Unknown

The exact models have not yet completed source verification and the Strap Zone physical test protocol.

Do not infer support from the Magene brand name or from marketplace descriptions without a model-specific manual. No model-specific public source yet
Multiple Watch with BLE heart-rate broadcast modeBroadcasting wearable Unknown Unknown

Compatibility depends on the exact watch exposing the standard BLE Heart Rate Service while broadcast mode is active.

A watch brand, normal Bluetooth pairing or ANT+ broadcast alone is not evidence of BLE Heart Rate Service support. No model-specific public source yet
Multiple ANT+-only heart-rate sensorLegacy chest strap Not supported Not supported

Strap Zone scans for the Bluetooth Low Energy Heart Rate Service and does not implement an ANT+ receiver path.

A dual-protocol sensor may work through Bluetooth. This status applies only when the device has no BLE heart-rate broadcast.

Before buying a sensor

  1. Find the manual for the exact model and hardware revision.
  2. Confirm Bluetooth heart-rate broadcasting, not only ANT+ or a proprietary app connection.
  3. Check whether another watch, gym machine or app may consume an available Bluetooth connection.
  4. If the model is Unknown here, ask support before treating it as compatible.

Report a real result

Send the exact sensor model, phone model, OS version, Strap Zone version and what worked or failed through support. A report can become User reported evidence, but it will not be relabelled Lab tested without reproduction under the published protocol.
